Product Description
Description:
The Waveshare UV Sensor is a specialized module used for detecting ultraviolet light intensity in environmental monitoring, weather stations, and germicidal lamp testing.
-
Analog Version: Uses a GUVA-S12SD sensor to output an analog voltage that increases linearly with UV intensity. It is ideal for basic UV detection and requires a microcontroller with an ADC to interpret the values.
-
Digital Version (C): Uses the LTR390-UV-01 sensor, which communicates over I2C. It can measure both ultraviolet rays and visible light, providing a direct UV index output that is less susceptible to noise interference than analog signals.
Features:
-
Dual-Light Detection (Digital only): Measures both UV and human-visible light intensity.
-
Integrated Level Conversion: Onboard circuitry makes these modules compatible with both 3.3V and 5V systems (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, STM32).
-
Linear Output: Provides predictable voltage (Analog) or digital data (Digital) relative to UV intensity.
-
Compact Form Factor: Tiny PCB footprints make them easy to integrate into wearable or handheld devices.
-
Onboard Interrupt (Digital only): Supports programmable upper and lower thresholds to trigger an interrupt signal to the host MCU.
Specifications:
-
Response spectrum: 200nm-370nm
-
Dimension: 22.0mm * 16.0mm
-
Mounting holes size: 2.0mm
Applications:
-
Ultraviolet tester
-
Outdoor ultraviolet detector
-
Germicidal lamp
How To Use:
In the case of working with a MCU:
-
VCC ↔ 3.3V ~ 5.0V
-
GND ↔ power supply ground
-
AOUT ↔ MCU.IO (analog output)
