Product Description
Description:
The Makerlab L293D Module is a high-power, "shield-style" driver based on the monolithic integrated L293D quadruple high-current half-H driver. This module allows you to drive up to four DC motors or two stepper motors, along with two 5V hobby servos, simultaneously.
Equipped with two L293D chips and a 74HC595 shift register, it uses a minimal number of digital pins on your microcontroller to manage complex motor movements. It features built-in flyback diodes to protect your electronics from back-EMF (voltage spikes) and includes a dedicated power terminal to separate logic power from high-current motor power, preventing brownouts.
Features:
Multi-Motor Support: Can drive 4 bidirectional DC motors with 8-bit speed selection or 2 stepper motors.
Servo Control: Includes two dedicated headers for 5V "hobby" servos connected to Arduino's high-resolution dedicated timers.
High-Current Protection: Integrated internal kickback protection diodes; each channel can provide up to 600mA of continuous current.
Easy Wiring: Features large screw terminal blocks for easy connection of motor wires (AWG 10-22) and an onboard reset button.
Pull-down Resistors: Keeps motors disabled during power-up to prevent accidental movement.
Thermal Shutdown: The L293D chips feature internal thermal protection to prevent damage from overheating.
Specifications:
