Product Description
Description:
This module is a core component for robotics kits. It operates on the principle of infrared reflectance: the onboard LEDs emit IR light, and the phototransistors measure how much is bounced back. Since black surfaces absorb IR light and white surfaces reflect it, the module can provide a digital signal to a microcontroller to indicate the robot's position relative to a path.
With three channels (Left, Center, Right), it provides enough data for smooth proportional steering. If the center sensor is "on the line" while the left and right are not, the robot moves straight. If a side sensor detects the line, the robot knows exactly which way to turn to correct its course.
Features:
Triple Sensor Design: Provides higher reliability than single-channel sensors, allowing for path correction and edge detection.
TCRT5000 Technology: Utilizes high-sensitivity reflective sensors with built-in filters to minimize interference from ambient visible light.
Onboard Signal Conditioning: Features an LM393 voltage comparator for clean, stable digital logic outputs.
Visual Feedback: Includes 3 status LEDs that light up when a line is detected, making calibration and debugging significantly easier.
Adjustable Sensitivity: Most variants include an onboard potentiometer to fine-tune the detection distance and threshold for different floor types.
