Description
The i7 Toolhead Filament Cutter is a critical component for automated material handling, particularly when paired with the CFS Lite multi-material switching module. Installed directly on the left side of the Extrusion Assembly, the mechanism trims the filament during loading, unloading, and mid-print color transitions.
When the printhead runs an automated purge sequence and travels to the far left of the gantry, a specialized lever mechanism physically actuates the cutter arm. The internal razor-sharp blade cleanly shears the filament to ensure a blunt, clog-free tip for smooth retractions. Once cut, an integrated internal magnet automatically pulls the spring-loaded cutter arm back into its ready position, maintaining reliable operation across thousands of intensive printing cycles.
