Description
The i7 Leveling Sensor is the component that makes the printer's hands-off calibration possible. Rather than using an inductive probe that hovers above the plate, the SPARKX i7 uses strain gauge technology: the sensor measures the minute mechanical force generated when the nozzle makes physical contact with the build surface. The printer taps a series of points across the bed, records the exact height at each contact, and builds a compensation mesh from those readings.
Those same readings feed the printer's wider automatic calibration routine, which handles Z-axis height compensation, vibration compensation, and cutter calibration without user input. When the sensor degrades or fails, the symptoms show up immediately in the first layer: the nozzle scrapes and gouges the PEI plate, sits too high for filament to stick, produces uneven adhesion across different areas of the bed, or the printer throws leveling and homing errors outright.
